TV Tokyo and the Anime Broadcast
TV Tokyo is the Japanese channel that has aired the Pokémon animated series since its launch on April 1, 1997. It has followed the adventures of Ash and Pikachu from the very first season.
In France, the series first aired on TF1 in the Club Dorothée and TF! Jeunesse blocks, before moving to Gulli and Jetix during the Diamond and Pearl seasons. Those broadcasts played a large part in the franchise's popularity with young French-speaking audiences.
